It’s been a very busy week, media-wise, for UTP books. Here are some media highlights from the past week.
Justin Podur, a contributor to Empire’s Ally, produced a documentary about the 2014 NATO withdrawal from Afghanistan.
The site Global Research posted an article by Stephen Gowans about political policing in Canada and Reg Whitaker, Gregory S. Kealey and Andrew Parnaby’s book Secret Service.
The Record reviewed Edible Histories, Cultural Politics edited by Franca Iacovetta, Valeria J. Korinek, and Marlene Epp.
The Art Newspaper looks at Edward VIII with Andrea Geddes Poole’s Stewards of the Nation’s Art.
Donald Avery’s new book Pathogens for War was launched this week on Tuesday at Ben McNally Books in Toronto. An article by Thomas Walkom about the book also appeared in the Toronto Star on Wednesday.
Steve Donoghue at Open Letters Monthly reviewed Robert O’Kell’s Disraeli, calling the biography “groundbreaking” and “genius”.
Lorraine York’s Margaret Atwood and the Labour of Literary Celebrity has been getting some attention as well. The Toronto Review of Books listed York’s new book as a New Book of Note this week. Brian Bethune reviewed Margaret Atwood and the Labour of Literary Celebrity in this week’s edition of Maclean’s.
