TORONTO – University of Toronto Press (UTP) and the Canadian Society for Clinical Investigation (CSCI) are very pleased to announce that they have formed a partnership for the publication of the journal, Clinical and Investigative Medicine (CIM).

With the mission of connecting ideas for a better world, UTP is dedicated to publishing exemplary scholarly works and sharing knowledge broadly. The UTP-CSCI partnership is a natural synergy that leverages UTP’s 120 years of expertise in academic publishing to enhance Clinical and Investigative Medicine’s sterling reputation for scholarly excellence. This collaboration aims to strengthen its focus on research publishing and expand its global readership.

“The work we do in the medical and health science area has been growing for some time,” says Antonia Pop, Vice President of Publishing at UTP. “We are honoured that the Canadian Society for Clinical Investigation is entrusting us to represent their flagship journal. Working with the journal’s experienced editorial team, we will work to enhance the journal’s role as a platform for developments in the fields of human health and scientific education. Our customer service team will provide exceptional operational support, enabling them to focus on editorial priorities like article curation and achieving the CIM’s mission.”— Antonia Pop, Vice President, Publishing, UTP.

CIM’s editorial focus includes clinical and laboratory investigations, clinical reports, and reviews designed to support Continuing Medical Education (CME). These reviews encompass narrative review articles, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. Diverse and esteemed contributors to CIMrange from medical students, residents, fellows, faculty, researchers, and practitioners at various career stages and across all specialties.

“It is essential for clinical researchers to have a forum for sharing their findings, especially when the results are extraordinary,” says Dr. Nathalie Johnson, President of the Canadian Society for Clinical Investigation.  “The UTP partnership will provide CIM with a stable platform, global reach, and century-long expertise in scholarly journal publishing, and we look forward to growing with UTP in the years to come.”

Clinical and Investigative Medicine (CIM) was established in 1978 as the official journal of CSCI.   It publishes original work in the field of Clinical Investigation by leading experts and emerging researchers alike.

The Canadian Society for Clinical Investigation (CSCI) was founded in 1951 to promote research in human health across the spectrum, from basic to clinical research and issues of scientific education and training to the delivery of health care programs in Canada. Its secondary mission is to support Canadian researchers at all stages of their careers. CSCI strives to provide a voice for young clinician investigators in the early stages of their careers, including Clinical Investigator Program (CIP) trainees and MD/PhD students.

University of Toronto Press (UTP) is one of the largest university presses in North America, publishing landmark scholarship since 1901. The Publishing Division produces over fifty leading journals in various disciplines, including microbiology, hepatology, physiotherapy, humanities, and social sciences.
