Dictionary of Canadian Biography

The Dictionary of Canadian Biography/Dictionnaire biographique du Canada is Canada's oldest and largest research and publishing project in the humanities. Established at the University of Toronto on 1 July 1959 under the general editorship of the distinguished historian George Brown, the Dictionary of Canadian Biography (DCB) represents the Canadian counterpart of Britain's Dictionary of National Biography, an intellectual monument of Victorian Britain.
