        Collected Works of George Grant

During his lifetime, George Grant (1918-1988) challenged and inspired a broad cross-section of Canadians, urging them to think more deeply about social justice and individual responsibility. He wrote on subjects as diverse as technology, abortion, politics, nationalism, cultural change, and the war in Vietnam, and he was claimed by both rightist and leftist causes. In this four-volume series, Grant’s published and unpublished writings are brought together for the first time, including six books, a DPhil thesis, hundreds of articles, letters, lectures, and notes, as well as journals from his years at Oxford, Dalhousie, and McMaster, and extended meditations on Nietzsche, Heidegger, Simone Weil, and Céline. The texts are annotated, and each volume includes an introduction to the period it covers. This series makes it possible to see the whole pattern of Grant’s thought and invites a layered appreciation of his work and legacy.
