Conferences:
- Jennifer DiDomenico attended the Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Atlanta from August 4th-8th
- Douglas Hildebrand and Anne Brackenbury attended the American Sociological Association Annual Meeting which was held here in Canada (Montreal) this year, from August 12th-15th
- Our books were on display at the Beijing International Book Fair from August 23rd-27th
- Mat Buntin and Daniel Quinlan were in San Francisco for the American Political Science Association Annual Meeting & Exhibition from August 31st-September 3rd
- Len Husband brought our business history titles to the Canadian Business History Association meeting, held locally at Rotman School of Management, September 11th-12th
- Suzanne Rancourt and Natalie Fingerhut attended the Global Reformations Conference put on by the Centre for Renaissance and Reformation Studies Conference at Victoria College, University of Toronto on September 28th and 29th
Media Highlights:
- On Civic Republicanism, edited by Geoffrey C. Kellow and Neven Leddy, was reviewed in Philosophy In Review
- Mark Celinscak discussed his award-winning book Distance From The Belsen Heap with KVNO News
- In an op-ed for The Irish Times, academics Áine Mahon and Shane Bergin write that Maggie Berg and Barbara Seeber's runaway bestseller The Slow Professor "serves as an intervention for higher education [in Ireland]. It serves also as a manifesto. It powerfully outlines how academics must act in order to save the institutions they value."
- Mayhill Fowler talked about her book Beau Monde on Empire’s Stage with Harvard University Ukrainian Research Institute
- In an op-ed for The St John Telegram, Jared Wesley, editor of Big Worlds: Politics and Elections in the Canadian Provinces and Territories argues that any account of Canadian democracy must focus on the intricacies of provincial politics
