Rotman-UTP Publishing Submissions

Please submit your proposal to Jennifer DiDomenico, acquisitions editor for Business and Economics, and include the following:

  1. A working title and capsule statement (2–3 sentences) about the subject of your book, the position it takes, and how it will benefit its readership.
  2. A description of your book’s key message and unique contribution. You should discuss your key argument, evidence, and conclusions, and describe how your book relates to existing books on the same or similar subject(s). Ensure that your description answers the questions: “Why is your book important?” and “What benefits does it provide to readers?”
  3. Information about the knowledge base informing the book. Upon what research is it based? If case studies are to be employed, from which industries and countries are they drawn?
  4. Information about intended audience(s). Please be as specific as possible. If the book is intended for course adoption, please list relevant course titles/departments. If you have information about where such courses are taught, or an idea of enrollment, please include here.
  5. Manuscript information:
    • number of pages (specify double-spaced manuscript pages or printed book pages)
    • number of figures and tables
    • apparatus (i.e. cases, exercises, glossary)
    • amount of copyrighted material you plan to use
    • current manuscript status
    • estimated delivery date
  1. A list of similar (including competing) books and information on how your book differs from and/or builds upon these.
  2. Author credentials (curriculum vitae or professional resume)
  3. A table of contents with brief synopsis of each chapter
