For Immediate Release
April 1, 2021
To brighten their book publishing colleagues’ spirits on April Fool’s Day, University of Toronto Press issued a gag press release earlier today announcing its forthcoming production of “Erasmus! Erasmus! – The Zoom-usical.”
To the best of UTP’s knowledge, no one has staged a Broadway-style musical based on the life and letters of the philosopher, classicist, and theologian Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus who lived from 1466–1536 during the European Reformation … yet.
However, readers interested in The Collected Works of Erasmus are invited to explore the 89 volumes in this monumental series on UTP’s website.
University of Toronto Press (UTP) has published landmark scholarship since 1901. One of the largest university presses in North America, UTP releases over 180 new scholarly, course, and general interest books in both print and ebook format and 47 journals each year. In addition, UTP also operates UTP Distribution through warehouses in Toronto and Buffalo along with campus bookstores across the University of Toronto. For more information, visit utorontopress.com.
