“ERASMUS! ERASMUS! – THE ZOOM-USICAL” IS AN APRIL FOOL’S DAY PRANK

For Immediate Release

April 1, 2021

To brighten their book publishing colleagues’ spirits on April Fool’s Day, University of Toronto Press issued a gag press release earlier today announcing its forthcoming production of “Erasmus! Erasmus! – The Zoom-usical.”

To the best of UTP’s knowledge, no one has staged a Broadway-style musical based on the life and letters of the philosopher, classicist, and theologian Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus who lived from 1466–1536 during the European Reformation … yet.

However, readers interested in The Collected Works of Erasmus are invited to explore the 89 volumes in this monumental series on UTP’s website.
